Calendar export questions

How do I convert ICS to CSV for Excel or Google Sheets?

Choose an .ics file or paste its complete contents. Your event rows appear on this page. Open Columns & time zone to choose fields and a display timezone, then download the CSV. In Excel, use Data > From Text/CSV; in Google Sheets, use File > Import. The output is CSV, not an XLSX workbook.

Need a file first? Export your calendar from its calendar app. In Google Calendar on a computer, open Settings > Import & export > Export. If the download is a ZIP, extract it and select one .ics file. Keep the original as your calendar backup.

Google Calendar export instructions

Are my private appointments uploaded?

No. Your calendar is read and converted locally in your browser, without a calendar account connection, AI processing, or browser storage. Clear calendar removes the current input and result. Refreshing the page clears the current calendar and restores the fictional example. No sign-in or credits are required.

Analytics record conversion actions and entry counts, without filenames or appointment details. Review your selected CSV columns before sharing the downloaded file.

Why does a weekly meeting appear only once?

Each stored calendar event (VEVENT) becomes one row. Repeating series are not expanded into individual dates. Select Recurrence, Excluded Dates, Additional Dates, and Recurrence ID to retain the rules and exceptions.

In the example, Team review repeats four times but produces one row; Design workshop produces the second. For a timesheet, expand recurring dates separately before calculating working hours. The converter does not calculate hours or billing totals.

How are timezones and all-day dates handled?

By default, times retain their original time zones. Choose a destination in Columns & time zone to convert timed events. Try Asia/Tokyo with the example: Team review changes from 14:00 UTC to 23:00. All-day workshop dates stay November 12–13.

All-day End Date means the last included day, rather than the exclusive end stored in ICS. Times without a timezone stay as written. If a requested timezone conversion cannot be resolved, an export note explains which source values were retained; check those notes before relying on the output.

Why do I see duplicate, changed, or canceled entries?

The converter preserves source records rather than merging or deleting them. Include UID, Status, Recurrence, and Recurrence ID to distinguish an original series from a changed occurrence. A matching UID alone does not prove two rows are duplicates. Check canceled records and recurrence exceptions before counting appointments or calculating totals.

Does the download include events beyond the preview?

Yes. The preview shows the first eight readable entries; the download includes all readable entries, up to 5,000, with your selected columns and timezone. Choose one ICS file at a time, up to 2 MB. Invalid date entries are skipped with an export note. Task-only or free/busy-only files are not supported.

What if Excel opens the CSV in one column or shows incorrect characters?

Import the file using comma as the separator and UTF-8 as the encoding. The download includes a UTF-8 byte-order mark to help Excel recognize international characters. Formula-like event text is protected with a leading apostrophe.

CSV keeps event values, not spreadsheet formatting, reminders, attendees, or attachments. It is a snapshot and does not sync with later calendar changes.
